This week went by in a flurry and halfway through I caught a nasty cold. A cold in July? Really, those two words should never be in the same sentence. But, the tension building in my head was somewhat relieved by a friend who stopped by and delivered several meals from her freezer. Seeing my family enjoy her turkey meatballs and chocolate sweet bread at dinner on a night when I felt like cutting my nose off reminded me how much I need others.
And how much I want to be a person like my friend…there for others to lean on. I’m starting to breathe like a normal person again so I thought I’d share a few finds from this past week. Happy weekend everyone.
Create a Family Mission Statement-I really enjoyed Simple Mom’s posts this week about a Family Mission Statement. You can read hers here. I was inspired to think more critically about our family’s purpose and needs.
No One Wins with Pornography-Simple Marriage did a few great posts this week about pornography and its stinging effects. Even if you think you don’t struggle or your family doesn’t struggle, chances are someone close to you struggles in some way. So read on to be sobered about its seriousness.
Everyone paint the Last Supper I really enjoy this art teacher and all the great ideas she offers. She sells large wall mural templates on her site. And I thought this would be a great one for a Sunday school class to work on together. (I don’t get any $ for referring you to this, just FYI). It’d be a great opportunity to tell the story in detail, get everyone’s hands involved, and decorate the room. 3 in 1!
