The Human Body
One of the most spectacular burning bushes we take so much for granted is us –Humans: God’s masterpiece in creation.
The sixth “day” of God’screationwas a masterpiece. It was very good. Humanity (Man and Woman He created them)was a separate creation phase, and this is very significant.
Humanity was not are making or reshaping or evolving from other species. Humanity does share traits and even genetic semblances with other animals since they come from the same Creator, scientist/artist. However, our bodies are intrinsically different, which is the focus of this Burning Bush – Humanity.
Human DNA
According to Dr. Stephen Meyers – the author of the Return of the God Hypothesis – and many other scientists, the human DNA points to Intelligent Design.
From his presentation in Cambridge:
- Francis Crick’s sequence hypothesis revealed that DNA contains information in a digital form, functioning like a written language to provide instructions for building essential proteins in living cells.
- Proteins function as essential tools in cells, performing various roles based on their structure, similar to how digital code directs the manufacturing of mechanical parts.
- Watson and Crick’s discovery of DNA as a coded molecule revealed evidence for intelligent design, challenging the materialistic foundations of evolutionary theory.
- New discoveries in molecular biology and the information in DNA suggest that the origin of life may be better explained by an intelligent cause rather than undirected chemical processes.
- The speaker explores the possibility of formulating a scientific argument for intelligent design by applying historical scientific reasoning, inspired by Darwin’s method of inferring the best explanation from clues.
- The best explanation for scientific phenomena is one that identifies a known cause that produces the observed effect, as supported by historical figures like William Hu and Charles Lyell.

Functional Complexity
Processing Power:
- Performs 10 quadrillion operations per second
- Uses only 20 watts of power (equivalent to a light bulb)
- A computer with similar capability would require 1 gigawatt (enough to power 300,000 homes)
- Processes 600 million bits of visual information per minute
Memory Capacity:
- Storage equivalent to 4-10 terabytes (some estimates up to 2.5 petabytes)
- Can store 150 trillion pieces of information over a lifetime
- Forms 700-1,000 new neural connections every second during learning
The brain is the most complex structure in the universe, but we know more about distant objects in space than the human brain. In this episode, biochemist Fuz Rana and Dr. Uditha Jayatunga discuss the amazing complexity of human and animal brains and the problem it poses for the evolutionary paradigm.
The Human Brain
The human brain represents one of the most sophisticated structures in the known universe. Here are the staggering numbers:
Cellular Architecture:
- 86 billion neurons (nerve cells)
- Up to 1 trillion supporting cells (glial cells)
- Each neuron can connect to 1,000-10,000 other neurons
- Total connections: 100-1000 trillion synapses
Physical Specifications:
- 3 pounds in weight (2% of body weight)
- 73% water content
- 60% fat (fattiest organ in the body)
- 1,400 cubic centimeters of volume
- 2.5 million new neurons formed daily in adults
